Dear Reader,
welcome to the ninth edition of the TOOP newsletter! I hope this newsletter finds you well and healthy. The last months and especially the last weeks were very unusual and causes some changes to our lives. The outbreak of COVID-19 in Europe has also an impact on the TOOP project but the Management Board, the beneficiaries and all project members doing their best to limit the impact and to continue the regular work.
In February, the European Commission approved the extension into time until the end of September 2020. This extra time will ensure the opportunity for the piloting countries to implement the updated TOOP technical solutions
Furthermore, we continue close cooperation with the European Commission, CEF Digital Preparatory Action to ensure the sustainability of the TOOP assets and support the development of the OOP technical architecture. Besides that, the work on the sustainability plans for the outcomes of the TOOP project reached its next stage and will be in the focus of the project members until the end of the project. Additionally, we are happy to announce the first major release of 2020, indicated as TOOP Solution Architecture v2.0, is issued.

| 2nd extension of the TOOP Project |

The European Commission approved the extension of the TOOP project, which will last until September 2020. We are happy to operate within this extra timeline and work on alignment of the TOOP solution with the Target Architecture of the CEF OOP team. This extension provides opportunity for the piloting countries to implement the updated TOOP technical solutions.

| Collaboration with the CEF OOP Action |
|
In the last phase of the project, we intensified cooperation with the CEF OOP Action team to improve the OOP system and help it become a reality in the EU. Together, we work on developing an architecture tailored to the needs of the Single Digital Gateway Regulation.

| Pilot progress |
|
With number of connectathons in the first quarter of this year, we have achieved progress in piloting the OOP architecture. The main focus was put on the General business mobility pilot, as well as the maritime pilot.

| TOOP final event |
|
We started preparations for the final TOOP conference. Due to the current situation, we have decided to organise an online conference. It will take place on 23rd September. It will be the best opportunity to summarize the work done and to present the project achievements and recommendations for future actions. During this event, the results of TOOP will be also handed over to the CEF Digital team, responsible for the OOP system sustainability.
