WebSummit 2018 and GOVTECH Summit 2018

From 5th to 8th November, one of the biggest technology conferences took place in Lisbon, the WebSummit. The Summit was a 4-day event which attracted over 70.000 experts like CEO’s, investors, interesting start-ups and government bodies.

The ‘once-only’ principle was presented and discussed during two roundtable discussions. On the 6th November - as an opportunity for making businesses across borders easier and safer and on the 8th November - in regard to the border regions issues. Both discussions attracted a wide audience and pointed out new views and aspects on the  Principle.

The ‘once-only’ principle was also presented at the 12th November in Paris at GOVTECH Summit, which was supported by French President Emmanuel Macron. The Summit aimed to bring together important stakeholders of European government bodies, important innovators and experts to discuss and discover new solutions on eGovernment technologies. The event was part of the annual Paris Digital Week from 11th to 14th November.

Robert Krimmer, project leader of TOOP, presented the project with a discussion about connecting Europe. He highlighted the benefits of the ‘once-only’ principle and explained the future plans of the project and the impact of the SDG regulation.
